Brooke’s 7th Birthday Party
I always ask the kids what kind of birthday party they would like to have. Brooke usually knows exactly what she wants but this year it changed every month. So I told her when October comes, she had to decide and it is not going to change. She picked a zoo party and so the planning began. I looked into several options, like having it at the zoo, having the Dallas zoo come to us, having a zoo in Oklahoma or a zoo from Austin come to us, but I things weren’t working out or what I wanted. I finally found a lady called the creature teacher who had animals I knew Brooke would love and she came to your home so it worked out perfectly! We got to choose the animals we would like her to bring so we chose, a baby Kangaroo, chinchilla, sugar glider, ferret, hedgehog, chameleon, and a snake. During the presentation, Luke told everyone that he was allergic to snakes. It was so cute and funny! All the kids and adults really seemed to love the animals. It was so cool to have Brooke feed the baby kangaroo and then see him hop around our house for a little bit. For decorations, I made animals cut out of cardboard paper that turned out super cute! I had zoo animals placed around on the tables, using burlap and wood. WE went for a more natural look and I loved how it turned out. After the kids got to see and touch all the animals, they ate snacks. I had made a snack sandwich, had tiger tails, zebra cakes, fruit kabobs and juice. I loved how to food turned out too! Brooke loved every part of her party! We then had cake and opened presents! Before everyone left, the kids got to go to the adoption center and adopt an animal to take home. They got to name their new pet, fill out a certificate of adoption, and take it home! We had such a great time and loved to zoo party!
