South Africa – Day 9
This morning is our last morning here at the game lodge. We have an incredible time and so before we had to leave to head to the airport, we got to go on one more game drive! This morning we didn’t get to see much but we got to follow and see a small pride of male lions. They were just beautiful and at one point, our truck got pretty close to them. No sudden movements allowed! After our game drive, we came back to the lodge fro breakfast and then pack up. Our transfer got to the lodge at 11am to pick us up and take us back to Hoedspruit airport to fly back to Cape Town. Our flight got to leave a little bit early, which made me happy because I wanted to shop once we got back to Cape Town, so this gave me a few more minutes of shopping!
Once we landed in Cape Town, we had Uber Black pick us up and take us to our hotel, The Queen Victoria. This hotel was beautiful and a little fancier/different style than our previous hotel. It was right on the waterfront, so we were close to many restaurants, the water and shopping! once we got things situated in our room, we went over to the Watershed to shop. This was a shopping area of things made by local artisans. I bought several things but could have easily bought more! We then did some more shopping in some other shops and at the mall. After we were done shopping, we ate dinner at Cape Town Fish Market. I had fish cakes and Brandon had a burger. We then went back to our hotel, showered and tried Turkish delight that they left for us in our room. This tasted like nothing I had ever tasted before and not something we liked at all. We then went to bed because our driver was picking us up at 5:30am to drive us two and half hours to Gansbaai South Africa.
