The kids were out of school for a few days and we wanted to do something fun, so Misty and I made last minute plans to take our kids to Holly Lake and spend the night. We packed without them knowing and told them we were going to lunch together. We went to lunch at Chick Fil A and then surprised them by telling them we would be spending the night together and going to Holly Lake. My kids really had no clue what this was other than they got a sleep over with their friends! We got there, checked in and got our cabin! We then played miniature golf, shuffleboard, and entered in a Hula Hoop contest! Brooke won the hula hoop contest and won a slushy! The kids were so excited that the pool was open and even though we told them it would be ice cold they were determined to go swimming! So we let them and it was ice cold but it didn’t stop them! After the kids went swimming, we went fishing and caught lots of blue gill! We also took a hike and played on the playground! We had such a fun day and were now starving, so we ate pizza at a local pizza place where we go to meet the owner and he gave us free cheese sticks, lol! When we got back to the cabin, we had the kids put their swim suits back on and we made them a HUGE bubble bath and added glow sticks to it! The kids had so much fun and it was quite entertaining to watch them as well! The next morning we played some tether ball and went back to the playground before we headed back home! We had such a fun slumber party with Misty, Carley and Cutler and loved our last minute adventure with them! Holly Lake was a blast and we already want to go back!
