Mom’s 70th Surprise Party
Tonight I was able to surprise my mom and throw her a birthday party for her upcoming 70th birthday. I have been sneaking around and planning this for awhile so pulling this off was a major ordeal! Her friends Terri and Glenda helped me invite her friends from the organizations she is involved in and then I invited the friends I knew on Facebook. Terri also helped me rent the location and then make up the lie/story on how to get my mom to the party. Our story was that there was a meeting between the chamber of commerce and the garden club, which she is involved with both of those so we knew she would come and see it as important to be there. I had called her earlier today just to see if she mentioned a meeting that she would be going to and in that conversation she mentioned nothing at all about it. In fact, she said she had the night off and if she did have something she wasn’t going. I went into panic mode and called Terri. Terri texted her and reminded her of the meeting and then my mom texted me saying she did have something and that she completely forgot. Whew…she had me worried for a little while. Well my awesome friends Amy, Lacey, Misty, Allison, Tracey all helped me in someway with this party! I truly could not have done this without them. We loaded up Amy, Lacey and Tony’s cars all with the stuff I needed to bring and then more friends showed up to help me set up and pull this thing off! I am incredibly grateful and blessed by the people I have in my life! I chose a garden theme for her party and it turned out so cute! My favorite things were the cabbage arrangements I made and the carrots in the jar. The whole thing was a blast and she had so many friends and family come and celebrate her! For her candles/cake. I put 70 candles in a mason jar and lite them all on fire at the same time. The flame was huge and luckily it went well and nothing caught on fire! I completely enjoyed celebrating and honoring my mom, Happy 70th Birthday Mom, I am blessed to be your daughter!
