Pink or Blue?
Today we had my sonogram to find out if we were having a baby girl or a baby boy. Brandon and Brooke went with me and of course I was nervous but yet very excited! I was just hoping that the baby would cooperate and they would be able to see everything needed and then be able to tell us the exciting news.
I thought before I went that I might need to drink a coke so that the baby would be active but once the sonogram began I quickly realized it was a good thing I didn’t. This little baby was so active that she had hard time keeping up with it. The baby would toss, turn, flip, stretch out then curl up in a ball.
After sometime she had me roll on each side and sit up to see if we could get the baby to move to a better position. Well, baby wasn’t cooperating. But we did find out the sex. She decided to tell Brooke, “guess what, you are having a baby BROTHER!” I couldn’t believe it. Of course we would of been happy with whatever God had intended for our family but both Brandon and I really wanted a little boy. We both did guess girl thought before going in.
My eyes filled up with tears because of the joy and happiness of knowing there is a healthy baby boy growing and will be part of our family. Because he was so wiggly, I do have to go back for another sonogram because they could not get a good picture of his heart, little stinker!
After my appointment, we went to a few stores to look at baby boy stuff. It is definitely weird looking at boy stuff. I am so used to girl things, but it was very fun and exciting. After shopping we met up with our parents at Olive Garden for dinner. I had us and them wear a pink or blue shirt depending n what they thought it was. Brandon, Brooke and I had on pink whereas my mom, Grandma and Papa had on blue. The table was divided half and half. I told them I had to go back next week because baby wasn’t cooperating and showed them my appointment card. Grandma wasn’t too sure is she should believe me or not so I put the card in my purse and then said “but we did find this out” and I held up a onesie that said little brother.
They were all so very excited just as we are! We can’t wait to meet this little guy and for Brooke to have a little brother. She is going to be a great big sister and I look forward to all the memories we get to make as a family of 4.
Wonderful news! Congratulations…you’ll be busy, busy, busy when you have two to chase after. Joel and Patricia will have to get the new boy cousins together more often! Can’t wait to meet him…and will see you next month for Brooke’s birthday. Love, Gerry
