Snorkling and Shopping

Today we stayed around our hotel (Sheraton Maui at Black Rock) in the morning to do some snorkeling. Our hotel has one of the best places to snorkel so we were excited to see what was right outside our door. When we first got in we saw a few fish then a crowd of people. The people were swimming by a sea turtle. I was so excited. We swan by him for a few minutes captured a few pictures then made our way around the rock. Later we saw another sea turtle, this one was smaller than the first one, but still very cool to swim with. The pictures don’t give the colors underwater justice. It is just beautiful. The coral and the fish are all sorts of different colors. It is just beautiful and so clear.

The rock is beautiful, you can see everything because the water here is so clear! We snorkeled for a little bit, took a break and then had lunch at the hotel’s ocean bar. Lunch here was actually pretty good! I had a Cajun chicken sandwich and Brandon had a burger. After lunch we did a little more snorkeling then swam in the pool some.

We then got cleaned up and headed over to the next town called Lahaina. They have a ton of little shops and lots of restaurants. So we did some shopping and then ate at Kimo’s restaurant. I had the prime rib and Brandon had the Sirloin. We both really liked our steaks and the view was awesome!

Part of Front Street, the shops here are so fun!

I really enjoyed today because it was very relaxing and easy going. Our surroundings are beautiful and spending time around our hotel was quite enjoyable!

I feel like I’m going to Maui already – great pictures.
You’d be a good travel editor.
How’d you get your underwater photos?

I could buy a case for my camera or buy a $200 underwater camera.
I’m not sure it’s worth the cost.

Here’s a little blog on correcting underwater photos.
